Gold Coins of Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein was part of the Holy Roman Empire from 1719 until 1806, when it came under the influence of the French under Napoleon Bonaparte. It was a member of the German Confederation from 1815 to 1866, when it became an independent Principality. Modern coinage starts with King John II in 1898 and continues through 1946.
