Gold Coins of Canada

Colonial Canada used Spanish Dollars and English coins like the American colonies.  Between 1850 and 1908 Canada used British coins. Canada’s native gold coins consist of the Canadian gold sovereigns and Canadian gold dollars of King Edward VII and King George V between 1908 and 1914. Modern gold Maple Leaf Gold Coins from Canada are all bullion coins and are traded entirely by their weight.
