Egyptian gold coins probably start with Persian Darics in the Fifth Century. Modern Egyptian Gold coins start with the French Occupation under Napoleon Bonaparte in 1789, follow with various Turkish Sultans and Kings until the revolution in 1952 when Egypt became a “Republic”.
